Projects to do
This is just a list of projects I've started but not completed. Sort of a log of things I need to get done before I forget I'm doing them.

| Photography gear holder | Basically just a cupboard insert for holding lenses and related photography gear. Basicaly just boxes (two at this point) that can be stacked on a standard cupboard shelf. You still need to decided what's going on inside: using Gridfinity? Ideally a load of different trays, similar sizes for smaller lenses, filters, etc. Don't make them too specific as it will limit later reuse and also the need to put something **exactly** where you put it which was never your strong suit. | Let's say about 1/3 done |
| Roof GPS transmitter | I want to embed a GPS receiver inside the roof with an antenna on the roof. Point is to use an ESP32 module to transmit the actual time and also other information to other devices. Possible protocols include MQTT and ESP Now. | Not started |
| Custom keyboard | I wanted to create a custom keyboard to create tables in LaTeX for a subject I once had. Even made the PCBs. Trouble is after the subject I no longer needed this keyboard. Still possible for one day though, possibly in a different form. | Mothballed, for now. |
| Home desk console | A console for my desk at home. I want to have a unit under my monitors firstly to elevate my monitors to improve my posture and then also for storage. I want to build in a few things. One is keyboard storage, another is a multimeter and power supply. Also many USB ports for peripherals. | Conception phase. |
| Plant diagnostics for watering | I waste a lot of water on unnecessary irrigation when it rains as my irrigation system is basically just a Sonoff connected to a solonoid valve. In future I would like to connect this to a soil moisture sensors instead. Trouble is I don't want to constantly replace batteries, so I may have to create a 5/12 volt system for the garden which is a bit of a hassle. I'll also have to connect my potted plants to this irrigation system too. | Conception phase. |
| Gate kickplates | basically just takes up the space between the existing gate and the ground. The trouble is that the ground is uneven so I can't just use a rectangular plate. This will allow cats in and out and that is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. | Schematics drawn up. Still need to acquire 55 mm black M8 bolts with associated bolts. And no, these cannot be substituted. |
| Balcony spotlight | I need to mount a spotlight from my balcony to illuminate the area below as I sometimes work there at night. Switching on and off can be achieved with a Sonoff. Will need to climb into the roof to lay wires. | Spotlight bought. Black three core cable and Sonoff required. |
| Raspberry Pi server and Media Centre | Raspbery Pi connected to the TV. I've installed KODI. I also want to create a remote folder with media to display. Interface with a cordless keyboard. | Mostly set up, just need to create a shared folder and populate it with media. |
| Speed up 3D printer | I need to install Klipper to the Ender 3 that was given to me. In its current state it is far too slow. Might do it using a Raspberry Pi, however I might just use an old laptop or so. | Still need to learn how to do it. |
| ATTINY85 programmer board | Programmer board for the ATTINY85. Onboard ZIF socket for easy changing of the microcontrollers. The board just has an Arduino Nano doing the lifting. Custom PC made: disappointed in the QR code performance: too many holes in the QR code: reading is hit and miss. | Actually basically done. Might redo the PCB to improve PCB readability. Need to create the instruction manual. |
